Westgate Park BioBlitz
About
Join us at Westgate Park for a morning BioBlitz. As part of a guided walk, hear from Mars Reid from Westgate Biodiversity: Bili Nursery & Landcare and ecologist Dr Julian Brown from the University of Melbourne.
Learn about the plants that make up Westgate Park, the common pollinator-plant interactions you might see, and where and how to look for pollinators.
Photograph and record the insects you find using iNaturalist and make an important contribution to help us better understand the insects in the park.
This free event is part of City of Melbourne’s Insect BioBlitz, running from Sunday 1 March to Saturday 7 March 2026. Join us for a week dedicated to discovering, documenting and learning about the local critters who call Melbourne home.
